Chapman Rites In California

LIBERTYVILLE - Dorothy Jean Bucher Chapman, 53, died suddenly Wednesday, May 10 at 1 p.m. after suffering a heart attack in South Gate, Calif.

She was born Feb. 11, 1925 in Ottumwa, the daughter of Dorothy and Joe Bucher. She was raised and educated in Libertyville and graduated from the high school there in 1943. She moved to California in 1947, and August of 1956 was married to William Chapman, who survives. She was a member of Eastern Star, Manchester Chapter No. 449.

She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her mother, Dorothy Bucher of Calimesa, Calif., a sister Louise Elliott of Riverside, Calif., and several relatives in this area.

Last rites will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Biby and Belyea Funeral Chapel in South Gate with interment in the same city.
