Americus Sullivan, aged 89 years died in a home near Ottumwa sometime during Sunday night or early Monday morning. He had been in usual health Sunday evening and on Monday morning when they went to call on him found he had died. He is survived by a sister, Mrs Cynthia Haywood of near Bussey and two nephews John and Tom Haywood. The body was brought to the I W Klein funeral home. Services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial was made in Highland cemetery. --Eddyville Tribune, July 29th, 1937
