Mrs Maude Slycord, aged 45 years, wife of Wm Slycord of the place died Thursday evening at the Ottumwa Hospital where she had been a patient for several weeks. She had gone to Ottumwa to visit her daughter Mrs George Gladson when she took sick. --Eddyville Tribune, July 29th, 1937
