Sanford Plummer son of John & Susan Plummer was born November 28, 1859 at Eddyville Iowa and died at his home in Cimarron, Kansas on Wednesday July 17, 1937. February 26, 1885 he was married to Nancy A Carnes at Ottumwa Ia. To this union were born two sons Earnest Sanford who died at the age of 5 years and Roy Earl, who died during the World War. Surviving are his wife, Mrs Mary Plummer, two sisters, Mrs Anna McCaffrey, Mrs Ella Newell and a brother, Jack Plummer, all of Eddyville. Mr and Mrs Plummer moved to Kansas in 1912 and then to Cimerron in 1918 where they have since made their home and in 1935 they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Mr Plummer established the first filling station in Cimarron on 1919. He became seriously ill on July 1st. Funeral services were held at the Cimmarron Methodist Episcopal Church on July 16, 1937. Burial was made there. --Eddyville Tribune, July 29th, 1937
