Mrs Clarence Harding aged 57 died at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa Saturday evening May 27,, 1944, where she had been a patient for several weeks. Mrs Harding spent most of her life in Eddyville and around Kirkville. Several years ago they moved to Oskaloosa which has since been her home. She was a member of the Eddyville Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, three daughters, Mrs S B Akin of Arlington, Va., Mrs Wm Klein of Eddyville and Regina at home. Two sons, Leroy in England and Leonard of Camp Hood, Texas, also two brothers, Albert and Tommy Kerr of near Kirkville. Funeral services were held from the Eddyville Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev J W Zerbe of Fremont her former pastor officiated. Burial was made in Highland cemetery. – Eddyville Tribune, June 1st, 1944.
