DEATH OF MRS. COLE.

Funeral This Afternoon From Residence on South Benton Street.

From Monday’s Daily.

Mrs. J.S.W. Cole died yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock at her home on South Benton street, age the age of 41 years, after a short illness of eleven days. Mrs. Cole was born in Derbyshire, England, in the year 1861. At the age of 13 years she came with her parents to this country and settled in Oskaloosa, but later moved to Flagler.

She was married to J.S.W. Cole March 5, 1889 [sic-should be 1879], and removed to Lincoln Neb., where they made their home for eight years. They then moved to Missouri and a little later to Ft. Scott, Kansas, where they resided for two years. Since that time they have resided in Ottumwa. Mrs. Cole is survived by her husband and five children–William Henry Cole, Mrs. Elizabeth Duncan of Kansas City, Lydia Dell Cole, Lloyd LeGrande Cole and Olive May Cole.

Funeral Held Today.

The funeral services over the remains of Mrs. J.S.W. Cole were held this afternoon at the residence on South Benton street at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. J.M. Bailey, pastor of the Christian church. The interment was made in the Shaul cemetery. Mrs. Cole has made many friends during her short residence in this city who mourn most sincerely with the bereaved family for the departed one.
