Ed McLamar

Edward J. McLamar, 81, of 806 N. Jefferson died today at 3 a.m. at his home.

Mr. McLamar was an employee of Lagomarcino - Grupe Co., prior to his retirement in 1954.

He was born Nov. 23, 1881, at Murrayville, Ill., the son of Martin and Marguerite Hickey McLamar. He was a resident of Ottumwa the past 50 years.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

His marriage to Katherine Scieszinski took Jan. 14, 1913, at Melrose. She survives, as also do one foster son, James Scieszinski of Ottumwa; one sister, Mrs. Hanah Hatcher of Burlington; and one niece.

He was preceded in death by one daughter and one son in infancy, one foster son, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Traul Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church. The Requiem High Mass will be celebrated by Msgr. W. E. Cullinan, pastor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Members of the parish and friends will meet Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., following devotions, at the funeral home to recite the Rosary.
