Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” February 14, 1968:

Mrs. Bessie Jennings

Mrs. Elizabeth (Bessie) Jennings, 75, of 513 S. Milner St., died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at Jefferson Square Manor where she had been a patient for six months.

The daughter of Louis and Mary E. Shreeves [sic-should be Shreeve] Rutter, she was born March 22, 1892 in Ottumwa and had been a resident here all her life.

Her marriage to Benjamin F. Jennings was March 6, 1916. He died February 10, 1964. She was also preceded in death by six brothers.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Virginia French of Ottumwa; two nephews, Richard Rutter of Springfield, Ill., and Robert Rutter of California.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. Milton Early of the Brethren Church will officiate and burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
