Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Saturday, December 1, 1917:

Rev. Edmund Brown.

Word was received today by Mr. and Mrs. Scott Brown, 329 Keota street, of the death of their only son, Rev. Edmund Brown, which occurred this morning at his home in Scotts Bluffs, Neb., after a four weeks’ illness with pneumonia.

The Rev. Mr. Brown was born in Melrose, September 22, 1881, but has spent the greater part of his life in this city until ten years ago, when he was ordained a minister in the Baptist church. He has recided [sic] in Scotts Bluffs, Neb., for the past year. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, one son and one daughter, his parents and five sisters, Mrs. O.A. Watson of El Paso, Tex., Mrs. P.A. McFarley of Denver, Colo., Mrs. O.W. Kinnear, Mrs. John Conner and Miss Hazel Brown of this city.

The remains will be brought here, arriving tomorrow at 1:36 p.m. [sic] and taken at once to the home of his parents. The funeral arrangements have not been completed.

The remains of Rev. Edmund Brown, who died Saturday at his home in Scotts Bluff, Neb., after a four weeks’ illness with pneumonia,, arrived in the city at 1:36 a.m. [sic] today and were taken to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Brown, 329 Keota street. The funeral will be held Wednesday, but the arrangements details are not complete and will be announced later.

Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Tuesday, December 4, 1917:

The funeral of Rev. Edmund Brown who died Saturday at his home in Scotts Bluff, Neb., will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the Finley avenue Baptist church. The service will be conducted by Rev. W.E. Prewitt, Rev. Jonathan Lee., Rev. John Hasty of Farson, Baptist State Secretary Rev. Ray E. York and the pastor of the Baptist church at Fremont, where Rev. Brown held his first charge nine years ago. The remains arrived in the city yesterday afternoon and were taken to the home of Rev. Brown’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Brown, 329 Keota street.
