B.F. Jennings
Benjamin F. Jennings, 76, of 513 S. Milner St., died at 5:30 a.m. today at St. Joseph Hospital.
The son of George and Ellen Hesslin [sic-should be Heslen] Jennings, he was born Sept. 9, 1887, in Ottumwa. He was a local resident all of his life and was an employe of John Morrell & Co. for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1952.
His marriage to Elizabeth (Bess) Rutter took place March 6, 1916, in Ottumwa. She survives.
He also leaves a stepdaughter, Mrs. Virginia French of Ottumwa and three sisters, Mrs. Florence Casady and Mrs. Polly Hillgardner of Wichita, Kan. A brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
The service will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Reece Funeral home. The Rev. LaVerne Morris of the Davis Street Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
