Life-Long Resident Of County Dies At 86

Carey Newman, 86, died Monday at 4 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.A. Sward, of Farson.

A lifelong resident of Wapello county, Mr. Newman is survived by two daughters, Helen Sward of Farson and Nora Newman of Montesano, Wash.; four sons, Noris [sic-should be Norris] and Chester A. Newman of Farson, Carey Newman, Jr., Ottumwa route 1, and John A. Newman of Omaha, Neb. Eleven grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at the Lester Jay funeral home Wednesday at 2 p.m. in charge of the Rev. S.P. Williamson of Fairfield. Burial will be in McCormick cemetery.
