Note: I have verified with Maude's death record that she died August 11, 1966, and I have verified the date both her obituary and funeral service notice were published in the "Ottumwa Courier," If anyone comes across this obituary on the cds of Ottumwa obituaries, it is labeled incorrectly as being published August 18.

Maude is buried in Shaul Cemetery; the name on her gravestone is Julia M. Reinier, her full name being shown in the records as Julia Maude Reinier.

Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," Thursday, August 11, 1966:

Mrs. Charles Reinier

Mrs. Maude J. Reinier, 86, of 226 S. Ward, died at 5:19 a.m. today at her home following a lengthy illness.

The daughter of Charles and Hellen Heller, she was born in Wapello County April 10, 1880, and had resided in Ottumwa the past 45 years.

Survivors include two sons, Clarence Reinier of Ottumwa and Lowell Reinier of Bloomfield; four daughters, Mrs. Jean Murphy of Chicago, Mrs. Bernice Cobb of Ottumwa, Mrs. Bessie Hall of Macon, Mo., and Mrs. Leora DeValt of Earlham; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Heller of Ottumwa and two sisters, Mrs. Olive Hanft of Ottumwa and Mrs. Florence Irvin of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Reinier, in 1955; two sons, Frederick and Raymond; and a daughter, Cleo.

The body is at the Johnson Funeral Chapel.

Service for Mrs. Julia M. Reinier, 86, of 226 S. Ward, who died Thursday at 9:10 a.m., will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Chapel. The Rev. William Ira Kerr, pastor of First Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
