Note: John E. (Eddie) Randall died August 11, 1966. I have verified the dates both his obituary and funeral service notice were published in the "Ottumwa Courier," If anyone comes across this obituary on the cds of Ottumwa obituaries, it is labeled incorrectly as being published August 17.

Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," Thursday, August 11, 1966:

John E. (Eddie) Randall, 60, of 817 Glenwood, died at 8:20 a.m. today at St. Joseph Hospital.

The son of Frank and Mary Ellen Eldridge Randall, he was born Oct. 23, 1905, at Batavia. He had been a resident of Ottumwa most of his life.

He was a projectionist for local theaters for 42 years.

He was a member of First Methodist Church, and international Alliance of Theatrical State Employes and Picture Machine Operators. He was a past DeMolay member.

His marriage to Edna L. Burns took place May 6, 1923 in Ottumwa. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Winnie Holmes of Des Moines; one granddaughter; and a sister, Mrs. Jerry Perdue of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by one grandchild and his parents.

The body is at the Johnson Funeral Home. The funeral is tentatively set for Saturday.

"Randall Service," From "Ottumwa Courier," Friday, August 12, 1966:

The service for John E. (Eddie) Randall, 60, of 817 Glenwood, who died Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Reece Funeral Home. The Rev. Stanley Woeste of First Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Baird, Bob Heinje, E.E. Barnhill, Jr., Herbert Utterback, Russell Johnson and Frank Kastantin.
