Rev. John W. Hunt 89 of 521 Ellis died Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at his home. He had been in failing health for sometime and seriously ill for a week.

He was born on a farm South of Ottumwa on February 19, 1873; the son of Noah and Parthena Redden Hunt. He lived on a farm during his early life and later attended school in Chicago and Cleveland, Ohio. He was ordained in the Nazarene Church in 1916. He served as a minister for several years and returned to farming n later life.

He was married March 11, 1877 in Wapello County Iowa to Margaret Houk; who survives. He was the last of a family of seven children.
