Mrs. Edith De Ford--Mrs. Edith Deford, 83, formerly of Ottumwa, died at a Salinas, Calif., hospital Sunday. She had made her home in California for 19 years.She was born July 9, 1880, at Beacon, the daughter of John and Sarah Sellers Johnson.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Koontz of Salinas, Calif.; one son, John De Ford of Redfield; three sisters, Mrs. Cira Cook and Mrs. Will Harris, both of Ottumwa and Mrs. Ira Cook of Batavia; four brothers, Ernest Johnson of Monroe, James Johnson of Blakesburg, and Herbert Johnson and Walter Johnson, both of Ottumwa; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Frank E. De Ford, died Nov. 28, 1947. The body will be brought to the Johnson Funeral Chapel Friday afternoon
