Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” January 15, 1960:

Mrs. Mabel E. Findlay, 69, died Thursday noon at the Good Samaritan Home.

Mrs. Findlay was born February 14, 1890, in Scott county, the daughter of Elizabeth and Joseph DuBois. Her early life until she married was spent in Ottumwa. She had been a resident of Evanston, Ill., until three years ago when she returned to Ottumwa to make her home with a niece, Mrs. James Wrenn. Her husband, Stewart Findlay, died in 1950.

She is survived by a brother, John DuBois of Ottumwa; a sister, Mrs. Cora White of Columbus Junction; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Traul funeral home with the Rev. Paul Hann, D.D., pastor of the First Methodist church, in charge. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ed Love, Victor Lindsey, Edward DuBois, Beryl Kosman, Earl Traul, and James Wrenn.
