Sister Redeker Taken In Death

OTTUMWA - Sister Mary Francita Redeker, 37, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital. A teacher at St. Anthony School in Des Moines, she had been ill since February.

Madeline Bertha Redeker was born Aug. 21, 1936 in Washington, the daughter of Ruth Ople Kupka and the late Frank Redeker. She entered the Congregation of the Humility of Mary in Ottumwa Sept. 8, 1956 and made her vows July 27, 1959.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Frank Redeker, a brother, Francis Redeker, Fairfield; and three sisters, Mrs. Tom Smith, Ottumwa; Mrs. John Frittas Jr., Fairfield; and Mrs. Ronald Alterhofen, Chariton.

Sister Mary Francita received her BA degree in elementary education at Marycrest College.

The Rev. Glen Fuegen, chaplain at Ottumwa Heights, will be the chief concelebrant of the funeral mass Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Magnificat Chapel, Ottumwa Heights Center. the rosary will be recited there at 7 o'clock tonight.

Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery on the convent grounds.
