OTTUMWA — Dannie L. Quigley, 72, of 227 Skyline Drive, died at 9:21 p.m. April 11, 2014, at Pella Regional Health Center.

He was born April 29, 1941, in Ottumwa to Dillan E. and Marian J. Ward Quigley. He married Joy Lynne Mallonee on December 27, 1959. She preceded him in death on August 5, 1990. He married Marilyn Six on January 1, 1991. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2002.

A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1959, he worked in Cedar Rapids as an expeditor for Collins International. He moved back to Ottumwa in 1981operating Donut Land and then owning and operating Quigley's Donuts and Quigley's Tenderloins. He also worked for Lund International, Excel and Rainbow.

Dannie had attended The Church at Fourth and Washington streets in Ottumwa. He loved to rebuild wrecked cars, but his passion was custom cars, vintage cars, Volkswagens and watching NASCAR. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Surviving are a daughter, Dana Trout of Ottumwa; a son, Dack Quigley of Hawaii; his parents of Ottumwa; three grandchildren, Misty (Richie) Fogle, Billy (Diana) Trout and Jennifer (Jerry) Lemeuse; four great-grandchildren, Bailee Fogle, Isabel and Jason Trout and Tristan Lemeuse; two stepsons, Brian (Kellie) Carter and Derrik (Toni) Six; two brothers, Craig (Barb) Quigley and Dee (Pam) Quigley, both of Ottumwa; nieces and nephews, Penny Runnells, Kimberly Quigley, Mike (Kelly) Quigley and Heather Quigley; great-nieces and great-nephews, Megan, Dillan, Zane, Silus, Harvey and Dakota; three special friends, Maribel, Kevin and Joann.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Denise Pelic.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home. Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to The Christopher Reeve Foundation for spinal cord injuries or Susan G. Komen For the Cure.
