Paul Sinskey

Paul Sinskey, 86, of 225 N. Davis St., died Saturday at 8:05 p.m. at Ottumwa Hospital.

He had formerly operated a coal mine south of Munterville in partnership with two brothers for many years.

He was born March 23, 1887, at Lucas, the son of John and Elizabeth Pamborine Sinskey.

He had lived in Ottumwa since 1943. He was a member of the Munterville Lutheran Church. He was married to Hulda M. Carlson Oct. 18, 1913, in Ottumwa. She survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Leona Grooms and Mrs. Wanda Downing, both of Ottumwa; Mrs. Eudora Brown of San Diego, Calif.; and Mrs. Donna McCall of Des Moines; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Munterville Lutheran Church. The Rev. Calvin Rossman will officiate with burial at the Munterville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Roy Osborn, Roy McNeese, Vinton Beaver, Orval Pearson, Harley Kirfman and Dean Larson.

The casket will remain at the Johnson Funeral Chapel until 11 a.m. Wednesday when it will be taken to the church.

Note: Paul Sinskey died August 18, 1973.
