Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Wednesday, November 23, 1932:

MRS. LOUISA N. STEWART.

Announcement was made here today of the death of Mrs. Louisa Newman Stewart, a former Ottumwan, November 2, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jason P. Taylor, near Adair, Ill. Funeral services were held there, and the body was brought overland to the Shaul cemetery here where burial was made.

Mrs. Stewart was the daughter of David and Adaline Newman and was born in Wapello county, February 10, 1845. She lived near Ottumwa until her marriage in 1864, to Zacharia [sic-should be Zachariah] J. Minnick. They lived in this city until Mr. Minnick died in 1878. Two children were born to them, Harley D. Minnick, who died in Chicago in 1904, and Mrs. Taylor.

In June, 1882, Mrs. Minnick married Samuel A. Stewart of New Philadelphia, Ill, and they went to that community to live. He died in 1910. Mrs. Stewart became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church while living in Ottumwa, and later united with the Christian church at New Philadelphia.

Beside her daughter and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Stewart is survived by one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Susan Westwood of Lewis, Kan., Charles Newman of Lamoile, Iowa, and Extine Newman of Rockham, S.D.

Note: I have confirmed the date this was published in the “Ottumwa Courier.” Louisa is buried in Shaul Cemetery with her first husband Zachariah Minnick.
