Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” November 10, 1939:

Mrs. Grace Cecelia Ludwick, 84, Succumbs At Home On South Moore Street.

Mrs. Grace Cecelia Ludwick, 84-year-old pioneer resident of Wapello county died Thursday at 4:35 p.m. at her home, 317 South Moore street.

Mrs. Ludwick came to Wapello county from Indiana, state of her birth, 74 years ago. She had lived here since.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Hobart Hainline of Ottumwa; son, John of Hamilton, Mo.; brothers, Tom Heslin of Seattle, Wash., John Heslin of Portland, Ore., and Pete Heslin of Ottumwa; sister, Mrs. Albert Skinner of Ottumwa; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons and a daughter.

Services will be Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in the home, and at 9 a.m. in the St. Patrick’s Catholic church, where requiem high mass will be said by the Rev. T.C. Donohoe, pastor. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Members of St. Patrick’s parish will meet today at 8:30 p.m. in the Ludwick home to recite the rosary.
