Oliver Perry Bizer, a well-known young man of West Ottumwa, was almost instantly killed last night shortly after 9 o'clock, when a young colt which he was riding became frightened at a street car and became unmanageable. The animal reared up on its hind feet and the rider was thrown to the ground with much force. His head struck on the street car rail and the skull was fractured near the top. Mr. Bizer lived only a short time after the fatal accident. Medical assistance was immediately summoned, but the extent of his injuries placed him beyond the help of medical skill. The body was removed to the Sullivan undertaking parlors where it was prepared for burial. The funeral will be held at the home of J. F. Bizer, father of the deceased, west of the city, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Charles E. Harpe, pastor of the Reorganized Church of the Latter Day Saints of Fairview, will be in charge.
