Ernest James "Jim" Ridgway 77 of 903 1/2 Church St. died at 3:30 A.M. today at the Ottumwa hospital.

He was born Sept. 25, 1905 in Monroe County to Delbert and Elizabeth Hazlett Ridgway. A resident of Ottumwa since 1942 he had owned and operated J.R. Tap on Church St. for 28 years until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of St. Patricks church. He married Clovis Long April 10. 1944.

Survivors: His wife, a daughter Pat Wilcox of Rockford. Ill.; four grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sisters; Vesta Allison of Ottumwa, Billie Smith of Knoxville, Grace Miller of Centerville and Olive Kane off Illinois; and a brother Carl Ridgway of Waterville Minn.

Services will be Sat. at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic church with the Rev. P.C. Hart officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dale Young, Phil Wilcox, John Nicoletto, Everett Shields, Fred Parcel and Keith Leedom.
