Old Agency Resident Is Dead At 75
A resident of Agency for the last 51 years, William F. Hopkins, 75, died at his home there at 6:40 AM today. He was the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Hopkins and was born at Wilton Junction, November 1, 1860. He was employed as a Burlington railroad section foreman for the last 24 years. Surviving are his wife Ellen; one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Courtney of Agency; two sons, W. H. of Agency and C. W of Houston, Texas; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Cecil Schlotter of Bloomfield; two sisters, Mrs. Nina Speer of Ottumwa and Mrs. Christina Albright of Des Moines; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 PM at the home and at 1:30 PM in the Agency Methodist Episcopal Church, conducted by the Rev. C. R. Reed. Burial be made in Agency cemetery. Friends may call at Johnson's funeral Chapel until Saturday evening when the body will be taken to the home.
