Mother Of City Councilman Dies
Mrs. Jeanette Nevin, 69, Was Born In Kewanee, Illinois; Seven Children Survive
Mrs. Jeanette Nevin, 69 of 325 Taft Ave., Monday mother of City Commissioner, David A. Nevin, died at her home today at 7:45 AM. She was born in Kewanee, Illinois, February 2, 1868. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Blair of Davenport and Mrs. Jeanette Kibler of Humbolt; five sons, Dr. John L. Nevin of San Bernardino California, James R. of Woodstock, Illinois, Fred L. of Barstow, California, Mortan D. of Des Moines and David A. of Ottumwa, and three brothers, Morgan and William Lewis of Des Moines and David of Peoria, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband James Nevin, and one son, William. The body is at the Lester Jay funeral home pending completion of funeral arrangements.
