Solomon Anderson, 74, died at his home 124 N. Willard St., Monday at 8 PM. He was the son of John and Bertha Anderson and was born in Sweden, May 20, 1862. He came to the United States in 1881 and settled at Oskaloosa. He lived in Ottumwa for the last 12 years. Mr. Anderson was a member of The Willard St., Methodist Episcopal Church. Surviving are his wife, Julia; four daughters, Mrs. Ed Peterson of Heitman, and Mrs. R. C. Larson, Mrs. Carl Lindberg and Mrs. George Cavanaugh, all of Ottumwa; four sons, Elmer of Heitman, Joseph of Fort Madison, Herman of Ottumwa and Clarence of St. Clair, Michigan; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Arthur. Short services will be held at the home at 2 PM Thursday and at 2:30 PM at The Willard St., Methodist Episcopal Church, conducted by the Rev. A. P. Keast. Burial be made the Ottumwa cemetery. Friends may call at Johnson's funeral Chapel until 5 PM.
