Julia Tray, Old Citizen Dies Today
Mrs. Julia M. Tray, 79 of 1605 E. Main St., died at 6:30 AM today at St. Joseph's hospital. She was the widow of Robert Tray. Mrs. Tray was born in Pottsville Pennsylvania January 2, 1857. She had been an Ottumwa resident for the last 46 years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. P. J. Schmitz of Chicago, Illinois and Mrs. Mary A. Tray of Ottumwa; four sons, John J., Robert T., James P. and Francis L. Tray all of Ottumwa three sisters, Miss Jane Fogarty, Miss Hattie Fogarty and Mrs. Katherine Hughes, all of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one brother, Robert of Philadelphia and eight grandchildren. She was a member the Sacred Heart Catholic Church the Rosary society and the American Legion Auxiliary. Her husband and infant son preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at the home at 8:30 AM Friday and at the Sacred Heart church at 9 AM. Requiem high mass will be celebrated by the Rev. J. H. Courtney. Burial be made in Calvary cemetery. The body will remain at the Moroney funeral home until 4 PM Wednesday. Members of General Shields Council, No. 888. Will meet at the Knights of Columbus home Thursday at 7:30 PM and go to the home to recite Rosary.
