Mrs. Scott dies at 87

ELDON - Services for Mrs. Sydney Scott, 87, Eldon, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon. Burial will be in the Eldon Cemetery.

Members of the family will greet visitors at the funeral home this evening.

Mrs. Scott died Tuesday afternoon at the Jefferson County Hospital.

She was born Feb. 27, 1892, at Pierceville, the daughter of William Van Meter and Olive Teal Dodds. She married Bert Scott in September, 1912, at Eldon. He preceded her in death in October, 1947.

Mrs. Scott was a member of the Christian Church of Eldon and had been a resident of the Parkview Care Center since May.

She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Lloyd Droz, Fairfield; Olive Cooper, Eldon; LaVille Cramer, Ottumwa; Richard, Muscatine; Bill who lives at Eldon and Conley, Altoona.

Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Detrick, Fairfield, and Willa Kerr, Tucson, Ariz.; and a brother, Kayle Dodds, Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and two grandchildren.
