Mrs. Swasick Rites Held

BATAVIA - Last rites for Mrs. Cordia Swasick, 84, Batavia, were held Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery.

Mrs. Swasick died March 21 at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield. She had been a resident of the Batavia area for 35 years.

Mrs. Swasick was born July 22, 1888 near Jamesport, Mo., the daughter of Henry and Laccy HARRIS MILLS. She was married April 22, 1923 to the Rev. Clifford Swasick, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Brooks, Galesburg, Ill., and Mrs. Grace Huffman, Des Moines; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Other survivor are one brother, Festus Mills, Lavere, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. Pearle Pomeroy, Ottumwa. Mr. Mills, who is 102 years old, attended the services.
