C.E."BILL" REED

C.E. "Bill" Reed, 57 of Ottumwa Route 1 died at 4 p.m. Oct. 25, 1985 at his home.

He was born Oct. 13, 1928, in Ottumwa to Edward C. and Lora Sloan Reed. A lifetime Ottumwa resident, he was a barber for 32 years, owning and operating Bill's Barber Shop on Birch Street. He was a member of Ottumwa Masonic Lodge 16 AF&AM and a member and past president of the Ottumwa chapter of the Izaak Walton League. He was on the steering committee to establish the Wapello County Conservation Board and served on that board for five years. He was a veteran of the Korean war. He married Dorothy Binder on Oct. 17, 1954 in Ottumwa.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Pamela Jansen of Escondido, Calif.; two grandchildren, and two brothers, Dale and Ben Reed of Ottumwa.

Arrangements are pending at Reece Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established to the Wapello County Conservation Board.
