EDWARD REED

Edward C. Reed, 72, of 514 E. Alta Vista, died today at 11 a.m. at Ottumwa Hospital, where he entered one and one-half hours earlier.

Surviving is his widow, Lora.

The body is at the Jay Funeral Home.

REED SERVICES

The service for Edward C. Reed, 72, of 514 E. Alta Vista who died Monday at 11 a.m. at Ottumwa Hospital will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Jay Funeral Home, The Rev. A.D. Steffenson, pastor of First Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.

Mr. Reed was the son of Moralis and Sarah Loper Reed and was born Feb. 2, 1891 in Ottumwa. He was a lifelong resident of Ottumwa and for 27 years operated the Hamburger Inn on S. Market Street.

His marriage to Lora Sloan took place in Ottumwa June 16, 1927. She survives, as also do three sons, Bill, Ben, and Dale Reed, all of Ottumwa and seven grandchildren.
