LOUIS SLOAN

Louis Walker Sloan, 81, of 322 W. Fifth died at 10:10 p.m. June 25 in Ottumwa Hospital.

He was born July 17, 1900 in Ottumwa to Charles W. and Mary Ellen Walker Sloan. He was a member of Woodman of the World and First Baptist Church. He was retired from Railroad Express after 42 years (had been an agent at Red Oak). He married Nettie W. Hicks Dec. 11, 1920 in Ottumwa.

Survivors: his wife; son Richard of Ottumwa; daughter Suzanne Sederburg of Ames; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Jay Funeral Home, the Rev. Wesley Babian of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial: Shaul Cemetery. Pallbearers: Bill Hissink, Jack McClure, Bill Stockham, Bill and Dale Reed and Lloyd Lawson.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
