Wilbur Lee Kimple

PACKWOOD - The service for Wilbur Lee Kimple, 89, of 239 W. Woodland, Ottumwa, formerly of Packwood, who died at 2:35 a.m. Friday, April 29, 1994, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the Rev. Jane J. Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is open at the funeral home with the family present from 7 to 8:30 tonight. A memorial has been established to Packwood First Responders.

Kimple was born Sept. 14, 1904, in Allerton, the son of George and Mary Troster Kimple. He married Helen Hornocker on May 14, 1930, in Allerton, He worked at Dickey Transport for 22 years as office manager and bookkeeper, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the United Methodist church in Packwood.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Max of Plano, Texas, Rex of Ottumwa; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
