MRS. ORA PHILLIPS

Mrs. Ora A. Phillips, Eldon, age 81, passed away at the Ottumwa Hospital on March 26. She had been in failing health for 14 years.

Mrs. Phillips was born Oct. 1, 1888 in Albia, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Miller Brackett. She had formerly been a resident of Fairfield and Keosauqua and had lived in Eldon for 15 years.

She was a member of the Eldon United Methodist Church and Grand Hope Chapter No. 66, OES.

Her marrieage to Roy W. Phillips took place June 30, 1909. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1956. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Gwendolyn Cole, three brothers and one sister.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Morris Hogue of Eldon, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held March 28 at the Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon, conducted by the Rev. John Nye. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
