John E. Earhart

ELDON - John E. Earhart, 66, died at his home two miles east of Eldon some time before Thursday morning, when his body was found by Harley Sloan, a neighbor. He was last seen in Eldon Monday morning.

Born Jan. 8, 1898, in Eldon, he had lived in the community most of his life. He farmed and also worked for the Rock Island Railroad and John Deere Ottumwa Works.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Janice Milnes.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Janice DeRemer of Denver, Colo.; two sons, James of Burlington and John of Ames; and five grandchildren.

The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home with the Rev. K. Gene Carroll, Congregational pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Eldon Cemetery.
