County Native Dies Saturday
George W. Stocker, 83, a native of Wapello County, died at his home Ottumwa route 1, Saturday at 7 PM. Mr. Stocker was the son of Conrad and Mary Stocker and was born in Wapello County May 5, 1853. He had lived and Wapello County all of his life and in the Dahlonega Township for the last 40 years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. S. Y. Crady of Ottumwa, route 1 and Mrs. Clara Hults also of Ottumwa route 1; two brothers Alan Stocker Waterloo and Manson of Washington state. He was preceded in death by one son and his wife, Ellen, in 1930. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 AM at Johnson's funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. David Crockett. Burial be made in the McIntire cemetery. Pallbearers will be F. L. Stocker and W. H. Stocker, Walter Peck, John Lewis, John Carter and Elmer McCarthy.
