Virgel Leando Caldwell, 68 of 609 W. 2nd St., died Sunday at 7:45 PM in his home. Surviving are his wife, Agnes; three daughters, Mrs. Velda Ackerman of Kansas City, Missouri, Mrs. Vera Martin and Mrs. Wanata Clarkson, both of Ottumwa; one son, Merle Caldwell of Ottumwa; a stepmother, Mrs. Lizzie Caldwell Ottumwa; one brother, Albert Caldwell of Ottumwa; a half-sister, Mrs. Edna Trowell of Ottumwa; two half-brothers, Cleve Caldwell Long Beach California, and Rawieigh Caldwell of Batavia, and seven grandchildren. Mr. Caldwell's entire life had been spent in this vicinity. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at Lester Jay funeral home at 2:30 PM Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Eugene C. Beach. Burial be made in the Shaul cemetery.
