Ottumwa Courier April 11, 1936

Mrs. Myrtie Grimes, 42, wife of Lee Grimes, Packwood, died 10:30 PM Friday at the Ottumwa hospital. She had been a patient the hospital for the last 10 days. Mrs. Grimes was born in Jefferson County, April 12, 1893 the daughter of Oscar O. and Mary Miles Lawson Bradford. Surviving are her husband, Lee; five children, Donald, Dorothy, Norma Lee, Maxine and Marjorie, all of Packwood; her mother, Mrs. O. O. Bradford of Ottumwa; one sister, Mrs. Velma Sherwin, Ottumwa, and four brothers, Miles, Harry and Van Bradford of Ottumwa and Lester of Galesburg, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at the Packwood Christian church Monday at 2 PM, conducted by the Rev. S. P. Williamson, Fairfield. Burial will be held in Shaul cemetery, here. The body will remain at the Daggett funeral Chapel here until Sunday morning when it will be taken to Packwood. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Grimes’ four brothers, Roscoe, McClarey and Carmen Bradford, and a grandson.
