JOSEPH FRANCIS WHALEN

The body of Joseph Francis Whalen who died Wednesday at a Indianapolis Minn. hospital arrived in Ottumwa early today and was taken to the Maroney Funeral home where the services will be held Friday at 8:45 a.m. O'Clock. The body will be taken to St. Marys Catholic church where a requiem high mass will be celebrated by Rev. H. Walsh. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery.

For some time he worked here in Ottumwa for the Milwaukee Railroad and later in Chicago. He left here abt. 7 years ago.

Survivors are 2 brothers; J.P. Whalen of Dubuque and M.J. Whalen of Ottumwa, and two sisters; Sarah Whalen and Mrs. Charles Sehl of Ottumwa, his wife lives in Des Moines and a son who lives in Akron, Oh.
