Gladys Virginia Estes

Gladys Virginia Estes, 83, of Sunnyvale, Calif., died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, in Reno, Nev.

The body has been cremated. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Abingdon Cemetery in Abingdon. Memorials may be made to Hospice.

Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Estes was born Feb. 23, 1917, near Farson, the daughter of Ray and Ann Sanchez Wiggins. She married Gerald Frank Estes May 1, 1943, in Kirksville, Mo.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Indianola and a member of Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mary Estes of Sunnyvale; four sisters, Doris Wimpsett of Mankato, Minn., Frances Clossen of Marion, pearl Tygart of Fairfield and Marilyn Jeanne Elder of Ottumwa; and three brothers, Harold Wiggins of Packwood, Warren Wiggins of Hedrick and Richard Wiggins of Sun Lakes, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harlan Wiggins; and two sisters, Naomi Schark and Fern Noe.
