Lucy Miles Dies At 83

Lucy Miles, 83, former resident of Fairfield, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson Square Manor in Ottumwa where she had been a resident since April 29, 1970.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Raymond Funeral Home.

Lucy Miles was born Oct. 26, 1893, in Fairfield, the daughter of John and Martha Greeson Nelson. She was reared and educated in Fairfield and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She was married to Earl Miles who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Miles was employed at the Fairfield Glove Co. for a number of years before her retirement and illness.

She is survived by one niece, Lucille McWilliams, Danville. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
