Ottumwa Courier March 9, 1936

Mrs. Amanda Correll, 71, died at her home, 842 Ellis Ave., at 3:30 AM today. She was the daughter of James and Susan Pherigo and was born at Troy, July 19, 1863. She had been a resident of Davis County all of her life until the last seven years which had been spent in Ottumwa. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Troy. Surviving are two sons, Pearl Richardson of Lebanon, Kansas, and Ellsworth Richardson of Floris; one daughter, Mrs. Jennie Chadwick of Owatonna, Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Johnson of Arkansas and Mrs. Mary Carter of Selma; one brother, George Pherigo of Troy; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Minnie Smith of Ottumwa and Mrs. Mattie Billups of Caldwell, Idaho; four stepsons, Lyman and Ernest Richardson both of Ottumwa, Elmer Sample of Forsyth, Montana, and Clifford Richardson of Caldwell, Idaho; 43 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. One son, Ranson Richardson, preceded her in death January 27, 1936. Friends may call at Johnson's funeral Chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements.
