Negro Woman, 98, Dies Here Today
Mrs. Mary Ann Robinson Had Been A Resident Of Ottumwa For 82 Years.
Resident of Ottumwa for 82 years, Mrs. Mary Ann Robinson, 98, Negro, died at her home, 843 N. Fellows Ave. at 3 AM today. She was the widow of John R. Robinson a Civil War veteran, and was born in Springfield, Missouri, in 1838. She was a member of the board of stewardesses at the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Surviving are one son, Fred Crutchfield of Ottumwa; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Nancy Walker, Washington, Iowa; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the African Methodist Episcopal Church Saturday at 3:30 PM conducted by the Rev. J. W. Wiley, assisted by the Rev. E. P. Green. Burial be made in the Ottumwa cemetery.
