Well-Known Farm Woman Dies At 81
Mrs. Elizabeth Galey, 81, wife of James Galey, died at her home in Richland Township 7 miles Northwest of Ottumwa, at 7 PM Thursday. She had been a resident of Wapello County for more than 60 years. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Arthur and Charles, both of Ottumwa; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Githens, Ottumwa and Mrs. Clay Aldridge, Edmonton, Canada; four sisters, Mrs. Donald McSweyn and Mrs. Mary Clifford, both of Des Moines, Mrs. Isabell Aumack of Spokane, Washington, and Mrs. Jennie Chilton of Ottumwa; two brothers, John Hatch of Spokane and Charles Hatch of Ottumwa and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Lester Jay funeral home Saturday at 3:45 PM, conducted by the Rev. Harold Lancaster, D. D. Pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church of which Mrs. Galey was a member. Burial be made in the Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clive Harter, Arthur Broadfield, S. A. Kitterman, Fletcher Copes, Arthur McElroy and Frank Sylvester.
