Death Takes G. A. Priester At Age Of 55
George A. Priester, 55, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home, 132 S. Ransom Street Saturday at 4:20 PM. He was the son of William and Hannah Priester and was born in Muscatine, March 12, 1880. He came to Ottumwa in 1906 where he had lived since. He was a member of the local I. O. O. F. Lodge, No. 129, having served 14 years as inside guardian in all of the degrees. Surviving are his wife, Bertha at home; two sons, Carol Priester of Ottumwa and Maurice of Davis, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. J. V. Maurice of Muscatine, and Mrs. Mary Johnson of Anaconda, Montana; seven brothers, Garrett of Chicago, Edward, Frank and Will of Muscatine, John of Webster Grove, Missouri, Charles of Cleveland, Ohio, and Fred of Des Plaines, Illinois, and two grandsons, Robert and Richard Priester both of Ottumwa. Funeral services will be held at Johnson's funeral Chapel at 1:30 PM Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. A. P. Keast. Burial be made in Shaul cemetery. The body will be taken to the residence today at 5 PM and returned to the Chapel at 9:30 AM Tuesday. Odd fellows will have services at the Chapel. Pallbearers will be Carol Shaw, George Deller, Elmer Ecton, Mabry Fisher, Frank Beatty and C. D. Evans.
