Veteran Wapello County Citizen Dies
Mrs. Mary E. Kephart Was Born Near Munterville 81 Years Ago.
Mrs. Mary E. Kephart, 81, of 417 Carlyle St., died at the Ottumwa hospital today at 4 AM. She was the widow of John Kephart. She was the daughter of Fred and Margaret Folgman was born in Wapello County near Munterville, September 7, 1854, and lived in Wapello County practically all her life. She had been in Ottumwa for the last 20 years. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Margaret Cottrell and Mrs. C. V. Wilson, both of Ottumwa, Mrs. S. F. Major of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Mrs. Lewis Major of Agency, and Mrs. Lewis Deiters of Floris; two sons, Erwin of Red Oak and William of Cody, Wyoming; one sister, Mrs. Catherine Kirfman, Blakesburg; 25 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Johnson's funeral Chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements.
