County Resident 75 Years Dies
Mrs. Margaret MacMillan, 81 succumbs at home of granddaughter, Mrs. Alex Bean. Mrs. Margaret MacMillan, 81 died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Alex Bean, 726 E. 2nd St., today at 2:30 AM. Mrs. MacMillan had been a resident Ottumwa for 65 years and of Wapello County for 75 years. She was the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth White and was born December 6, 1854 and Galena, Illinois. She moved with her family to Eddyville 75 years ago. She was married to John C. MacMillan in July 1872 at Eddyville. Mr. MacMillan preceded her in death in 1930. Surviving are five grandchildren Leo MacMillan and William MacMillan, both of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Bean, Mrs. Louise Van Note and Mrs. Max Wallace, both of Chicago, and six great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Mrs. Louise Moss and Miss Sarah Graham, and one son preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Bean, Monday at 2:30 PM conducted by the Rev. Louis H. Matheus. Burial be made in the Ottumwa cemetery. Friends may call at Johnson's funeral Chapel until 5 PM Sunday when the body will be removed to the home.
