Winifred Keyhoe Dies Suddenly
Well known Ottumwa Woman Was Church And Community Worker; Suffered Heart Attack.
Miss Winifred Margery Keyhoe, well known in Ottumwa for her many humanitarian services and for church work, died suddenly about 7 PM Saturday of a heart attack at her home 312 Albany St. She was born in Ottumwa, the daughter of Mrs. and Mr. H. P. Keyhoe. In 1900 she was graduated from Ottumwa high school the valedictorian of her class, and then attended Grinnell College, Grinnell, for one year before poor health forced her to leave the school. At that time she returned to Ottumwa and began a career of community service here. She was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal Church, the Ottumwa Hospital auxiliary, the Shakespeare club, the Mizpah Circle of the King’s Daughters and the Jennie McKown chapter of that organization. The latter is a philanthropic organization and Miss Keyhoe had served as the chairman of the group. Remainder of Obit missing.
