J. Frank Harman Dies Here Today
Prominent Mason And Veteran Hall Employee Lived In City All His Life.
J. Frank Harman, 59, employed by the Walter T. Hall & Co. for the last 26 years and a lifelong resident of Ottumwa, died at his home, 118 Vogel Ave., at 7:30 AM today. He had been in poor health since October. Mr. Harman was the son of J. L. and Maggie Harman and was born here August 25, 1876. Except for six-year span in St. Louis Missouri he had lived here continuously. He was a member of the Ottumwa Lodge No. 16, A. F. & A. M., Clinton chapter No. 9, R. A. M., Ottumwa Council No. 31, Malta Commandery No. 31, Hafed Grotto No. 9, Kaaba Shrine, Kaaba Benevolent Association and the Low Twelve club. He was president treasurer of the Malta Commandery and Ottumwa Lodge No. 16. He was past commander of Malta Commandery, past high priest of the Clinton Chapter, and past in illustrious master of Ottumwa Council. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Dorothy and Marjorie, both at home and his mother, Mrs. Maggie Harman a daughter of the late Daniel Zollars. One niece, Katherine Benson also survives. The sister and his father preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at the Lester Jay funeral home Sunday at 3 PM conducted by M. R. Davis of the Christian Science church. Burial be made in the Ottumwa cemetery.
