Wife of Morrell Sales Head Dies
Mrs. A. B. Collier 50, 112 East Court Street, died suddenly Tuesday evening at her home. The former Grace Virginia Wilson of Detroit, she was the wife of the vice president and director of sales of John Morrell & Company. Death was attributed to a heart attack and came about 9:30 p.m. Mrs. Collier had not been in good health is recent years. She was born February 19, 1900 in Columbus, Ohio the daughter of Charles and Mina Kittering Wilson. She and Colliers married December 5, 1922 in Detroit. She had been a resident of Ottumwa since April of 1934. She was a member of the Ottumwa Women’s club and of the auxiliary to the American Legion. Surviving in addition to her husband is her mother, Mrs. Mina Bryson, who makes her home with the Colliers, and a sister Mrs. Ada Balog of Detroit. Her father and one brother preceded her in death. The body is at the Jay funeral home. Funeral services for Mrs. A. B. Collier of 112 East Court Street who died Tuesday evening at her home will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian church. It previously had been announced that services would be at the Jay funeral home. The body will be removed from the jay funeral home to the Church at 1 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Harold Drown will be in charge and burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery.
